Pitt Wraps Up the Regular Season at Wisconsin Pre-Nationals


MADISON, Wisc. – The Pitt Panthers traveled to the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course to compete in Wisconsin Pre-Nationals, the final regular season meet of the year.

The women finished 12th out of 29 teams assigned to the Women’s 6k “B” Race with 360 points. Winnie Incorvaia was the first Panther to cross the line with a time of 21:06.2 for 27th place overall. Olivia Bufalini and Sadie Carey-Tharp were the next Panthers to follow as they stopped the clock in 21:42.6 and 21:44.5 for 63rd and 67th places, respectively.

In the Men’s 8k “B” Race, the Pitt men finished in 13th place with 309 points. The Panthers had two runners finish inside of the top 50, senior Quintin Gatons in 39th place with a time of 24:40.0 and freshman Thomas McMahon in 49th place with a speed of 24:44.7. Junior Luke Simpson and senior, Luke Miller finished consecutively in 60th and 61st, with times of 24:55.6 and 24:57.1.

NEXT UP

The Panthers begin post season competition on Friday, November 1st when NC State plays host to the 2024 ACC Cross Country Championships in Cary, NC.
