Duke Competes at ACC Cross Country Championships


CARY, N.C. – Duke cross country competed at the ACC Championships Friday where the Blue Devils turned in a valiant effort at the WakeMed Soccer Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The men’s 8K got the action going, with Duncan Miller leading the way for the Blue Devils placing 66th following a run of 23:44.8.
  • Luke Thompson (78th), Ryan Banko (86th) and Alden Keller (88th) were the next three to cross the finish line for Duke. Thompson clocked 23:57.0, Banko finished in 24:02.9 and Keller ran 24:05.7.
  • Matthew Farrell rounded out the top-five finishers for the Duke men, checking in at 96th after running 24:09.5
  • On the women’s side it was Hattie Reynolds (95th) that spearheaded the efforts for Duke with a time of 21:14.5. She was followed by Thais Rolly (105th), who ran her 6K in 21:23.2.
  • Grace Geyer (149th), Iris Downes (153rd) and Abby Paczewski (155th) rounded out the group with runs of 22:43.6, 22:54.6 and 23:00.9, respectively.
  • As a team, the Duke men placed 11th with 345 points while the women took 18th after totaling 549 points.
