Edinburgh AC women at Kirkcaldy
Central AC men and Edinburgh AC women are our winners of the Cross Country Team Challenge for 2024.
The Team Challenge is open to senior teams across three short events in the Lindsays Cross Country Season – the District XC Relays, the National XC Relays and the Short Course XC.
Winning clubs in each division will receive £250 for their club as prize-money from scottishathletics.
Central AC won the Men’s table with the maximum 50 points. Cambuslang took second with 45 and Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds were third on 44 points. Fife AC and Central AC’s B team completed the top five.

The Women’s event was much closer and Edinburgh AC were the beneficiaries with Cambuslang, leaders ahead of Kirkcaldy, missing out on points there due to selection issues.
EAC totalled 45 points to win by a single point with Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds second (on 44) and Shettleston Harriers third (also on 44). The weighting of the event dictates that the Short Course is the decider in event of a points tie.
Completing the top five in the women’s division were Central AC and Glasgow Uni Hares and Hounds.
Big thank you to the clubs involved in fielding senior teams at national events in the Lindsays Cross Country Season and volunteers for making the events happen.
With thanks to Angela Mudge
