Badgers set to host NCAA Championships next Saturday


MADISON, Wis. – After earning runner-up finishes at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday, the Wisconsin men’s and women’s cross country teams were automatically selected to compete at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships at the Zimmer Championship Course, the NCAA announced on Saturday. 

The UW women will make their 34th NCAA appearance next Saturday at home as the women’s 6K race is set for a 9:20 a.m. start. The Badger men will compete at NCAA’s for the 62nd time with the men’s 10K set for 10:10 a.m. 

Fans attending the NCAA Championships are encouraged to purchase parking and their admission tickets ahead of time. An admission ticket is required for all spectators. An admission ticket is $20 and a parking permit is $5. One parking permit is required per vehicle and an admission ticket, which includes a shuttle ride, is $20. For those that can’t make it to Madison, the meet will air live on ESPNU starting at 8:30 a.m. CT. Live results will be available through PTTiming. 

The UW women finished second at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional as Shea Ruhly, Nora Gremban, Bella Jacobsen and Carolyn Shult earned top-25 finishes to lead the Badgers. Wisconsin finished third at the Big Ten meet earlier this month and entered last weekend ranked No. 14 in the country.

The Badger men are led by Bob Liking, who won his fourth individual Big ten title earlier this month, becoming only the fourth athlete in conference history to win four men’s individual titles. The Badgers won their 55th Big Ten Conference title and their seventh-straight title and are ranked No. 9 in the country.
