LOS ANGELES — At 94 percent, USC’s Graduation Success Rate of student-athletes is the highest in school history, according to data released on Nov. 20 by the NCAA. The Trojans have been hitting GSR records every year for the past decade, with this latest score setting a new all-time high and featuring 13 USC teams with perfect 100-percent scores.

The GSR measures how many student-athletes in the cohort classes of 2014 through 2017 graduated within six years of their enrollment.

USC’s 94-percent four-year figure is 27 percentage points higher than it was when the NCAA first released GSR numbers in 2005. USC’s 94 percent also ranks the Trojans tied for fourth in the Big Ten with Wisconsin and Washington. Behind conference leader Northwestern (98) and Michigan (96) and Minnesota (95). USC’s 94 percent score is higher than the overall average for all Division I schools, which stands at 90 percent.

Thirteen of the 20 USC sports whose data was tracked by the NCAA have a GSR of a perfect 100 percent this year: men’s golf, men’s tennis, men’s track & field, men’s volleyball, women’s basketball, women’s golf, women’s swimming & diving, women’s tennis, women’s track & field, beach volleyball, lacrosse, rowing and soccer.

Five other teams — women’s water polo (96%), baseball (93%), men’s swimming & diving (93%) women’s volleyball (92%) and men’s basketball (90%) — scored in the 90-99 percent range.

Ten USC teams equaled perfect all-time high GSR rates for their programs, while baseball’s 93 percent marked a program best and football’s 82 percent tied its all-time high.

Seventeen USC teams saw their latest GSR scores either improve or stay the same from last release. Improvements were made by six teams: women’s tennis (+11 percentage points), women’s swimming & diving (+9 ), women’s rowing (+4), men’s swimming & diving (+4), football (+2) and baseball (+1). Teams that stayed even with their previous scores were: men’s basketball, men’s golf, men’s tennis, men’s track & field, men’s volleyball, women’s basketball, women’s golf, lacrosse, beach volleyball, soccer and women’s track & field.

Women’s soccer’s rate is at 100 percent for the ninth consecutive year, men’s tennis hit 100 percent for the eighth straight year, women’s lacrosse did so for the seventh year in a row,…
