47 Trojans Named To Fall Academic All-Big Ten Team

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Forty-seven USC student-athletes earned a spot on the Fall Academic All-Big Ten team for their work in the classroom.
 
During their first year in the Big Ten Conference, the Trojans increased the number of athletes who earned Fall All-Academic honors to 47 from last year’s 42 with athletes from cross country, football, soccer and women’s volleyball. There are two Trojans who carry a GPA of 4.0, and they are football’s Brandon Shepherd and women’s soccer’s Hannah Griffin.
 
Compared to previous Pac-12 Fall All-Academic teams, USC has eight Trojans who earned this honor for the second time in their careers, five Trojans who earned this honor for the third time in their careers, and three Trojans who received this honor for the fourth time in their careers.
 
To be eligible for the Academic All-Big Ten team, student-athletes must have been enrolled full-time for at least 12 months and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This season, 2,001 student-athletes across all Big Ten institutions were named to this team.
