Indoor Track and Field Starts 2025 with split weekend in Spokane and Seattle


PULLMAN, Wash. — Cougar Track and Field will be split across the state of Washington for their first meet of 2025. The team will send their distance runners to Seattle for the UW Preview to compete in the 800-meter, 1-mile, and 3000-meter races. The rest of the Cougar Track and Field team will stay in Spokane for the Spokane Sports Showcase at the Podium.

Last Time Out – Spokane Invitational (Dec. 14, 2024)

WSU combined for eight wins and set 28 personal bests in the Cougs first full team indoor event at the 2024 Spokane Invitational Track and Field meet. Brooke Lyons, Riley Pyeatt, and Tatum Moku began the season with event wins on the women’s side. On the men’s side Mason Lawyer, John Paredes, Grant Buckmiller, Eli Lawrence, and Kai Twaddle-Dunham came home with victories. To go along with the wins and personal bests, the team also posted 15 Top-10 marks in school history.

Up Next:

Washington State will continue its busy indoor season next week as select student-athletes return to competition in Moscow, Idaho, at the McCluskey Memorial Open from the P1FCU Kibbie Dome next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 24-25.
