Edinburgh University are delighted to announce the appointment of Eilidh Doyle, Scotland’s most decorated athlete, as Global Ambassador of Sport.

Eilidh, who retired in 2021, is a world-renowned athlete and will work closely with the performance sport team on recruitment as well as mentoring elite athletes at the University as they progress through the levels of high-performance sport.

The University hall of famer will also work closely with our Development and Alumni team to help shape future scholarships as we look to help develop the upcoming talent from Scotland and wider afield.

Director of Sport and Active Health, Mark Munro, welcomed the news.

‘Eilidh is one of the most recognisable athletes in the UK and beyond and we are delighted to have her work with us,’ said Mark.

‘Eilidh will help in bringing on the next generation of talent where she can help pass on her years of experience, not only of high performance sport, but also what life is like at the University of Edinburgh having graduated herself back in 2008.’
