CLEMSON, S.C. – Tennessee track & field’s indoor season rolls on this weekend with a trip to Clemson, South Carolina, for the Orange & Purple Invitational. More than 50 UT athletes are set to compete over the course of the two-day competition, scheduled for Friday and Saturday inside the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex.
Action begins Friday morning at 11 a.m. with fifth-year senior Mikele Vickers representing the Lady Vols in Flight 2 of the women’s long jump, and the meet will conclude Saturday at approximately 4:15 p.m. with the men’s 4×400-meter relay.

Additionally, three post-collegiate Vols will make their professional debuts at Clemson this weekend. Former Lady Vol sprint star Jacious Sears – who posted the second-fastest 100-meter dash in collegiate history last spring – will represent Nike in the women’s 60-meter and 200-meter competitions, while 2024 Olympic finalist Clement Ducos and Barbados national record holder Rasheeme Griffith will open their respective seasons in the men’s 400-meter dash.
LAST TIME OUT: Tennessee traveled to the midstate for the Vanderbilt Invitational last week and left the Volunteer State capital with eight event titles — taking first place in the men’s pole vault, men’s long jump, men’s high jump, women’s weight throw, women’s 60-meter dash, women’s 60-meter hurdles, women’s pole vault and women’s shot put to conclude a successful weekend inside the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.
The Vols and Lady Vols combined for 20 indoor personal records in Nashville, including 10 marks that were ranked on the program’s all-time top 10 lists.
TENNESSEE IN THE RANKINGS: As of Thursday, Jan. 23, Tennessee athletes rank top 16 nationally in seven events according to the TFRRS NCAA Division I Indoor qualifying list.
