Badgers complete weekend at Louisville and Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The No. 14 Wisconsin women’s track and field program wrapped up its weekend of competition at the Meyo Invite at Notre Dame and the Lenny Lyles Invitational at Louisville, as they were once again paced by their newcomer in Emma Kelley in the middle distance.

The St. Louis, Missouri native finished the 800 meters race in two minutes, 5.11 seconds to take third. With her time, Kelley inserted herself at No. 4 all-time in UW’s Indoor Track history—surpassing her prior mark by about a second and a half.

Leane Willemse put together a strong performance in the 3000 meters, finishing in fourth place overall. The senior covered the distance in 9:11.54.

From the Bluegrass State, Kiley Robbins was the highlight in the 60 meter dash as the graduate student turned in her quickest time of the season in Louisville. Robbins dashed to a second-place finish behind a time of 7.30 seconds, only 0.08 seconds behind her career personal best, which stands as the current school record.

Up Next: The Badgers are back on the road for another pair of meets on Saturday, Feb. 8. The unit will be split between the DePaul Invite at Gately Stadium in Chicago, and the Millrose Games at The Armory out in New York City.
