FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Florida Gators Track and Field wrapped up a productive effort at the Razorback Invitational on Saturday. One day removed from Anthaya Charlton’s world-leading Long Jump, Jenoah McKiver posted a new top pace for the world in the 400m.
McKiver, who set a world indoor best in the 600-yard two weeks ago, delivered a blazing fast 45.19 performance, taking the world lead and moving to No. 5 in Florida’s program history, surpassing Gator Legends Tony McQuay, Arman Hall, and Najee Glass on the star-studded list.
Highlights
Sprints/Hurdles
The aforementioned Charlton, who displayed her jumping prowess on day one, made her season debut in the 60m sprint. She advanced to a final with a 7.38 time in the prelims, though she did not run in the final.
Demaris Water and Vance Nilsson returned to the 60m Hurdles event after a strong showing in the season opener. Both advanced to the final, the first such trip for the freshman Nilsson, and he (7.94) earned sixth while Waters (7.74) earned fourth.
Distance
Bethan Morley (4:32.88) and Tia Wilson (4:36.43) posted the UF program No. 4 and No. 8 Indoor 1 Mile times respectively. The English natives, and former teammates at Loughborough University in England, were standouts on Florida’s 2024 Cross Country team, and have now emerged as potential stars on the track. In her season opening race, Morley set a new No. 10 time in NCAA History in the 1000m and will look to continue writing her name in the history books as the postseason approaches.
Allison Wilson set a new personal record in the 3000m at 9:20.29. the Senior was a mere .19 away from reaching the program’s Top-10 list. Freshman Reagan Gilmore followed closely behind with an impressive 9:23.61.
Throws
Gracelyn Leiseth set a new indoor Shot put personal record at 16.28m [55′ 2.25″], vaulting herself into the program’s history books at the No. 8 spot. The sophomore finished third in the Razorback Invitational Field.
Jumps
India Alix delivered the top Triple Jump mark of flight one at 12.78m [41′ 11.25″], a personal record. Freshmen Asia Phillips and Jaden Lippett each performed well again, backing up their outstanding debut marks from the season opener. Phillips and Lippet each finished in the top five of the women’s and men’s Triple Jump fields respectively.
