Seremes, Perez-Snyman Cap Off Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational with Program Records

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri track and field wrapped up the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational on Saturday at Hearnes Center Fieldhouse, headlined by Jonathan Seremes with a nation-leading 16.94 meters (55-7) in the triple jump, also shattering the program record.

Kristi Perez-Snyman set another program record of 1.86m (6-1.75) in high jump and now stands sixth nationally. Her result breaks a three-way tie for the top spot in Mizzou history when she recorded a 1.83m at the Show-Me Showdown.

Seremes’s performance surpasses the 47-year (1978) record set by Ajayi Agbebaku’s 16.60 (54-5.50). Sermes also leads the nation with the top result after surpassing the previous leader, Oklahoma’s Brandon Green Jr., by 0.19m.

In addition to Sermes, multiple Tigers entered the program record books to cap off the two-day event.

Ethan Lee’s 4:02.26 in the mile marked the fifth-best time in school history and earned him fourth place in the event. He was joined by Lasse Funck, who also etched his name in Mizzou’s top indoor times with a time of 1:48.96 in the 800m, good for 10th.

Rahel Broemmel placed sixth in school history with a second-place finish in 9:20.25 during the 3000m race.

Following Broemmel’s 3000m performance, four Tigers entered the top 10 in school history in the men’s race – Declan Tunney in fourth (8:03.92), Carter Spradling in sixth (8:06.13), Ryder James in seventh (8:06.30), and Andrew Hauser in eighth (8:07.32).

To close out the event, Skylar Coffey improved on his personal best in shot put, moving up a spot in school history to fifth after an impressive 18.74m (61-5.75), topping his sixth-place result in the previous meet.
