Indoor Track & Field Releases 2022-23 Indoor Schedule

The slate includes 11 events in the regular season, including the Tar Heels’ first home meet in three seasons.

The indoor season will begin with the Sharon Colyer-Danville Season Opener hosted by Boston University on December 3.

After a break for the holidays, Carolina’s Dick Taylor Challenge will make its return for the first time since the 2020 season, marking UNC’s first home competition since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Carolina will make its first of two appearances in Blacksburg, Va., for the Virginia Tech Invitational on January 20. The Tar Heels will return to Blacksburg for the Virginia Tech Challenge a month later on February 17.

UNC will travel outside the Atlantic Coast Conference footprint on the following two weekends, taking part in the Penn State National Invitational on January 27 and 28 and the Husker Invitational (hosted by the University of Nebraska) on February 3 and 4.  A contingent of Tar Heels also will take part in the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., on February 4.

Members of the Tar Heels will split the following weekend at a pair of events on the weekend of February 10-11, those being the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt on February 10 and the Darius Dixon Invitational hosted by Liberty on February 10 and 11.

A contingent from Carolina will take part in the JDL DMR Invitational hosted by Wake Forest on February 17, and another group will take part in the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on February 18.

Louisville will host the 2023 ACC Indoor Championships from February 23-25.  The NCAA Indoor Championships will be on March 10 and 11 in Albuquerque, N.M.
