SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND BEARS FRUIT
After a solid weekend of competition at the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational, Utah was ranked No. 25 in the latest USTFCCCA TFRI Rankings – its highest ranking under the direction of head coach Kyle Kepler and is just the second time the program has been ranked inside the top-25. The Utes were last inside the top-25 back in 1982 when they were ranked No. 20.
The Women of Utah also have several groups in the latest Event Squad Rankings, checking in at No. 6 in the 400m hurdles, No. 6 in the 5000m race, No. 25 in the 800m run and No. 28 in the 1500m run.
OFF THE BLOCKS
The Utes will send a small contingent of 15 competitors down to BYU for the Robison Invitational and will feature a mix between the sprints and distance crew. The group of 15 will compete between eight different events as they look to run qualifying times for the NCAA West Regionals with the number meets remaining in the regular-season dwindling.
Emily Venters is scheduled to compete in the 5000m race on Friday, April 21, at the Payton Jordan Invitational as she looks to run a qualifying time for regionals. Gun is set to go off at 7:30 p.m. (MT) for the women and can be seen on FloTrack with 3-4 heats currently scheduled.
LAST TIME OUT
The Women of Utah had a great weekend in Southern California between the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays with several school records being rewritten along with some top rankings internationally.
