David Foster Advances To 100m Semifinals At Trials

Golden Bears’ Sprinter Checks In With Time Of 10.26 In Saturday’s First Round

EUGENE, Ore. – David Foster of the California men’s track and field team advanced to Sunday’s semifinals of the men’s 100 meters at the U.S. Olympic Trials after checking in with a time of 10.26 in Saturday’s first round at Hayward Field.

Foster finished fourth in the third of five heats in the first round. The top five finishers from each heat plus the next two best times overall qualified for Sunday’s semifinals scheduled to begin at 5:48 p.m. PT with the finals to follow at 7:49 p.m.

Foster will be the lone Cal affiliate competing at the Trials on Sunday, while Jasmine Blair and volunteer assistant coach Elena Brucker are slated to compete Monday in the women’s discus (5:00 p.m.).
