1. Sha’Carri Richardson and Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce had some problems getting into the training track prior to the semi-finals and finals. Sha’Carri had to walk an hour to get to the track. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, not able to do her full warm-up and noting an injury, withdrew from the 100m semi-finals.
2. Julien Alfred of St.Lucia won the 100 m gold in 10.72, Sha’Carri Richardson was silver in 10.87, and Melissa Jefferson was bronze in 10.92.
3. Noah Lyles surprised many with his come-from-behind win in the Men’s 100, PB 9.79 over Kishane Thompson, JAM 9.79, with Fred Kerley in 9.81.
4. Ryan Crouser took his 3rd Olympic shot put title, Joe Kovacs took his third silver Olympic medal and Raijindra Campbell gave Jamaica its first shot put medal with bronze.
