XC Preview: Crimson Classic & Wisconsin Pre-Nationals


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Vols and the 15th-ranked Lady return to action this weekend with a pair of meets starting Friday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at the Crimson Classic and concluding Saturday in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals meet.
 

Tennessee sends 11 men and six women to Alabama, while nine Lady Vols head north to represent the Orange & White in Wisconsin.
 
CRIMSON CLASSIC
Race day for the Big Orange on Friday begins at 9:30 a.m. ET with the men’s 8K race across the Harry Pritchett Running Course. The women are set to follow with a 6K race beginning at 10:20 a.m.
 
Running for the men in the Crimson Classic will be Canaan Anderson, Hudson Betts, Brody Chapman, Yonas Haile,  Zach Jaeger, Aaron Jones, Christopher Middleton-Pearson, Thomas Rice, Aidan Ryan, Gabriel Sanchez and Pavel Vinduska.
 
For the women, Teegan Anderson, Emma Kate Hamby, Ella Johnson, Savannah Rivera, Lauren Rutlin and Jaylee Wingate.

WISCONSIN PRE-NATIONALS
The pre-nationals meet on Saturday in Wisconsin will feature some of the best teams from around the country as they get a preview of the NCAA National Championships course at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course.
 
The top 5 programs in the nation will be making their way to Madison, including NAU, BYU, Washington, Notre Dame and NC State. In total, 19 ranked teams will compete in the Women’s “A” Race to kick off the day on Saturday.
 
Saturday’s “A” race begins at 11 a.m. ET with Msgana Araya, Jillian Candelino, Andie-Marie Jones, Ashley Jones, Caroline Lyerly, Summer Schuster, Jaci Sievers, Rachel Sutliff and Callie Tucker running for the Lady Vols.

UP NEXT
The men and women will have a week of training before traveling to Bryan-College Station, Texas, for the 2024 SEC Cross Country Championships. The conference meet is set for Friday, Nov. 1.
