Men’s “Open” Race – 1 p.m. 

Women’s “B” Race – 1:40 p.m.

Men’s B” Race – 2:20 p.m.

EAST LANSING, MICH. – In a busy week for Michigan State cross country, the men’s and women’s teams will compete in two races this week. On Friday, Oct. 18, selected members of the team will run in the Bowling Green Invitational. To prepare for the NCAA Championships, the bulk of the team will compete in the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 19.

 

Wisconsin Pre-Nationals

Some of the top teams in the nation will be in Madison on Saturday with 19 of the top-30 teams in the country according to the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll competing in the prestigious event, including seven from the top 10.  The Spartan women are currently No. 30 in the latest poll, while the men are receiving votes.

In the women’s 6k “A” race, Michigan State will be led by Katelyn Stewart-Barnett, Taylor Ewert and Sophia Lucki. Freshman Rachel Forsyth, who was the top MSU finisher in the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame on Oct. 4, will also be looking to make a name for herself among the elite runners. The women’s “A” race will start the action at 11 a.m. ET. The Spartans also have several runners competing in the women’s 6k “open” race, which is set to begin at 12:20 p.m. ET.

The men’s 8k “A” race will start at approximately  11:40 a.m. ET. The Spartan men have an experienced group led by Andrew Nolan, Alexander Penski and Tyler Pritchett. Nolan was MSU’s top finisher at the Joe Piane Invitational, finishing 19th in the 8k race.

Bowling Green Invitational

At the Bowling Green Invitational, the Steve Price women’s 6k will start at 4:30 p.m., while the Bob Rothermel 8k will begin at 5:10 p.m….
