Jackets Split Weekend at Penn State & Berry College – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech cross country is back in action this weekend with the Penn State National Open on Friday, Oct. 14 and the Berry Invite on Saturday, Oct. 15. The Penn State National Open will feature a women’s 6K race at 10:45 a.m. and a men’s 5.2 mile run at 11:30 a.m. At the Berry Invite, Tech will compete in the men’s college 8K at 9 a.m. and the women’s college 6K at 10 a.m.

Last time out, Tech recorded multiple personal best times at both the Lehigh Paul Short Run and the Alexander/Asics Invite. At Lehigh, Helena Lindsay and James Cragin were the top performers for the Jackets. At the Alexander/Asics Invite, Alex Thomas and Riley Perlakowski assisted Tech to team victories with second place individual finishes in their respective races.

Tech will have two different groups competing at the meets this weekend. The group racing at Penn State will feature some of the program’s top performers this season including Lindsay, Cragin, Liz Galarza, John Higinbotham.

Penn State National Open College Teams: Binghamton, Bucknell, Columbia, Delaware, Delaware State, Eastern Michigan, La Salle, Lehigh, Maryland, Northeastern, Quinnipiac, Rider, Penn State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, UMBC, Villanova, West Virginia and Youngstown State.

Berry Invite College Teams: Agnes Scott, Berry College, Covenant, Dalton State, Fort Valley State, Huntingdon, Lane, Maryville (Tenn.), Middle Georgia State, Morehouse, North Georgia, Oxford College, Piedmont, Spring Hill, Tuskegee, Sewanee, Welch, Wesleyan (Ga.) and Young Harris
