Nine Panthers Set New Top 10 Indoor Performances at Tiger Paw Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C.- University of Pittsburgh track and field posted nine new top 10 performances and personal-best marks this weekend at the Tiger Paw Invitational hosted by Clemson. The two-day meet ran from Friday, Feb. 10 until Saturday, Feb. 11.

“Overall, I consider our performance in the Tiger Paw meet a success. We had quite a few good performances and a lot more personal bests which is always a good indicator that we’re going in the right direction,” stated head coach Alonzo Webb.

Day 1

In the women’s mile, Emily Brown notched second place with a time of 4:50.45. Brown posted a personal-best finish and claimed the eighth-best time in program history. Reagan Flannery took home tenth place crossing the finish line at 5:01.38.

Freshman, Luke Simpson clutched fifth place with a time of 4:10.24. Quintin Gatons secured seventh place with a time of 4:11.18.

On the track, Ilse Steigenga posted a mark of 6.45m securing third in the women’s long jump. On the men’s side of long jump, Clement Campbell took home ninth place with a mark of 7.40m.

Day 2

Back on the tack, Emily Brown recorded another personal best in the women’s 3000m by claiming first place with a time of 9:44.86. Brown currently holds the ninth best in program history. Winnie Incorvaia notched a third-place finish with a time of 9:40.47 and recorded personal best finish. Invorvaia is tenth best in program history.

On the men’s side of 3000m, Luke Henseler led the Panthers by placing second with a time of 8:08.07. Trey Gannon places third with a time of 8:10.47. Jack Miller collected fourth place with a time of 8:12.19. Luke Miller crossed the finish line with a time of 8:14.25 to secure fifth place.

In the men’s 800m Jack Balick clutched a personal best by taking home seventh place with a time of 1:50.10. Balick is currently fourth best in program history.

Che Nwabuko recorded a personal best in the men’s 200m by collecting 29th place. He is currently fourth best time in program history. Stephon Brown also recorded a personal best by placing 31st with a time of 21.30. He is fifth best in program history.

On the women’s side of the 200m, Imani Clark placed 33rd with a time of 23.92. Clark is currently sixth best in program history. Freshman, Aleksandra Stoilova notched 49th place and added her name to the record book with a tenth-best time in program…
