Maatoug Garners USTFCCCA All-America First Team Honors at NCAA Indoor Championships


ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Sophomore Amina Maatoug garnered USTFCCCA All-America First Team honors in the women’s mile run on Saturday as the Blue Devils closed the door on the 2023 indoor season with the conclusion of the NCAA Indoor Championships.
 
Maatoug capped an incredible first indoor season as a Blue Devil with her nod to the first team. After posting a time of 4:41.25 in the preliminaries and punching her ticket to the next round, Maatoug clocked 4:38.83 in the final to place seventh overall amidst a highly-competitive field and collect her first USTFCCCA All-America honor for track.   
 
She also competed in the women’s 3,000m where she earned second-team honors behind a finish of 9:38.14

Duke gets its outdoor season started in South Carolina as the Blue Devils head to Myrtle Beach for the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, hosted by Coastal Carolina, set for March 16-18 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
