Gibson Breaks School Record in Men’s Discus – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS – Jamir Gibson led the Georgia Tech track and field program with a new school record in the men’s discus as it concluded competition at the Florida State and Raleigh Relays. Gibson placed third in the event at Florida State with a mark of 57.88 meters (189-11).

FLORIDA STATE RELAYS
John Watkins was also a top performer for the Jackets as he championed the men’s triple jump (15.57m/51-1).

Myles Collins led Tech in the men’s 1500m with a second place and personal-best time of 3:52.67. Chris Cherono followed behind in third place, running a personal-best time of 3:53.05.

In the women’s 800m, Reagan Mahoney placed second (2:14.95) and Gracie Marston took home third place (2:16.04).

RALEIGH RELAYS
In the women’s 3000m steeplechase, Helena Lindsay came in sixth place with a time of 10:14.67.

Mary Brady led the Jackets in the women’s 5,000 meters with an impressive personal-best time of 16:24.78 and finished 29th in the event.
