BOSTON, Mass. – Junior distance runner Daphnee Lavassas improved on her 3000m school record Saturday evening at the Terrier Classic in Boston, Massachusetts.

Lavassas represented Miami at Saturday’s races in the women’s 3000m as she posted a final time of 9:21.92, an improvement on her program record of 9:24.02, set in February of 2022.

Lavassas is making her first appearance since the 2023 cross country season where the Athens, Greece native competed at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, ending with a final time of 20:08.4 in the women’s 6K.

Next week, the rest of the Miami Hurricanes track and field will travel to Manhattan, Kansas, to partake in the DeLoss Dodds Invitational — hosted by Kansas State.
