MySportsResults.com would like to congratulate Hillhouse’s Khalil Antoine and Jordan Carr of Joel Barlow who have been chosen as our Week 7 2023-24 HOKA Male and Female Athletes of the Week. In addition to the recognition each week, award recipients will receive a commemorative t-shirt in recognition of their performance.

Khalil Antoine had an outstanding meet at the SCC championships, placing 4th in the 55m hurdles and long jump, and taking the gold medal in the high jump to score 18 of his team’s 53 points that helped the Academics to a third place finish. In the high jump, he not only broke the school record with his 6-10 clearance, he surpassed the conference meet record and is now tied as the 4th best high jumper in CT history. Dave Kriz’s state record of 7-feet is within reach with the biggest meets of the season on the horizon. The unsigned athlete is currently ranked 3rd nationally and has an excellent chance to earn a medal at whichever national meet he chooses to compete.

Another athlete who had a record breaking performance at her conference meet was Jordan Carr of Joel Barlow. The junior scored in the 55m hurdles and long jump at the SWC Championship but really shined in the pole vault. On her third attempt, she broke Emily Savage’s meet record with her 12-2 clearance. She has already cleared 12-6 to win the Yale HS Classic in January and on Saturday, she took three attempts at Savage’s state record. While she missed at 12-9.5, she still has plenty of time to become the first in-state girls to clear 13-feet or higher.
