Clemson Completes First Day of Tiger Paw Invitational – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers completed the first day of the Tiger Paw Invitational as they welcomed 30 institutions to the Clemson Indoor Track in one of the biggest meets of the weekend.

“It was another good day for both team’s, Oneka Wilson is now top in the ACC in hurdles and top-10 in the NCAA so that’s big,” Track and Field Director Mark Elliot said. ” We also had lots of people record big personal bests so it was just a all around good day”

With one of the most impressive performances on the day, Wilson completed the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.03 which marked a new personal best and placed her No. 3 on the all-time list. Heading into the weekend, that time would have placed Wilson sixth in the nation in that event.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS

  • Wilson and Antionette Van Der Merwe both qualified for the 60 meter hurdles semifinals after finishing in the top 24. Wilson completed the event in 8.23 and Van Der Merwe ran her best time of the event with a 8.27
  • Jevon Williams completed the 60 meter hurdles (prelims) with a time of 7.89 to qualify for the semifinals
  • Aleksandra Stoilova qualified for the 60 meter semifinals after running 7.40 in the prelims
  • In the prelims of the men’s 60 meter, Cameron Rose ran a time of 6.71 to qualify for the semifinals
  • Wilson ran an impressive time of 8.03 in the semifinals of the 60 meter hurdles, a personal best for her to secure second place and advance to the finals. The performance is ranked third all-time for Clemson.
  • In the women’s mile, Maddie Dinneen ran the best time of her career as she completed the event in 4:51.02 to secure second place
  • In the women’s 400 meter, Lashanna Graham entered the top-1o list as she now holds the No. 10 spot all-time for Clemson
  • D’Andre Anderson moved up on Clemson’s all-time list after finishing the men’s 400 meter with a time of 46.45 to put him at No. 7, the mark was a new indoor personal best for him
  • In the women’s pole vault, Annie Lineberger cleared 3.95m to tie her for fifth all-time and secure second-place in the event
