USC Wins Seven Events During Final Day Of The Texas A&M 44 Farms Team Invitational

Temi Ojora won the women’s triple jump and placed second in the high jump and Zane Golpariani won the men’s steeplechase with the ninth-fastest time in school history during the final day of the Texas A&M 44 Farms Team Invitational held at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas today (April 6).  In all, USC athletes won seven of the 16 events in which they competed in today.

  • Temi Ojora won the women’s triple jump with a wind-aided PR of 45-4.25/13.82m (+3.2w).  Her jump ranks second on the NCAA descending order list and she had three jumps over 45 feet. Lauren Reed placed third with a windy PR of 42-3.50/12.89m (+2.7w) and Jada Foreman was sixth with a wind-aided jump of 41-1.50/12.53m (+3.5w).
  • Zane Golpariani won the men’s 3000m steeplechase with a season-best time of 9:15.90. His time moved him to ninth on USC’s all-time steeplechase list.
  • Gavin Champ won the men’s triple jump with a wind-aided PR of 52-4.75/15.89m (+3.8w).
  • The men’s 4x100m relay team of JC Stevenson, Max Thomas, Bryce Brock and Jacob Andrews won with a time of 39.42.
  • The women’s 4x400m relay “A” team of Yemi John, Madison Whyte, Jassani Carter and Christine M. Mallard won with a time of 3:34.87 and the “B” team of Takiya Cenci, Nonah Waldron, Samirah Moody and Simone Ballard placed third with a time of 3:45.37.
  • Di’Niko Bates won the men’s 110m hurdles with a wind-aided best of 13.84 (+2.6w).
  • Yemi John won the women’s 400m with a time of 52.13 and Takiya Cenci placed eighth with a time of 54.39.
  • Jacob Andrews placed second in the men’s 400m dash with a season-best time of 46.92 and Darius Rainey placed third with a collegiate-best time of 47.46.
  • Temi Ojora came back to place second in the women’s high jump by tying her personal best with a clearance of 5-10.75 (1.80m). She went out at 6-0.50 (1.84m).
  • Nikolaos Polychroniou placed second in the men’s hammer throw with a mark of 228-11 (69.78m).  All six of his attempts went for over 221-0 feet.  Matteo Mitchell placed sixth in the hammer throw with a PR of 194-4 (59.23m).  All three of his legal throws went farther than his previous personal best of 190-0.
  • Tracy Towns placed second in the women’s 800m race with a time of 2:10.42.
