From a British perspective, Megan Keith’s UK under-23 5000m record and the manner of Daryll Neita’s victory was the highlight even if the latter’s 22.62 did not get the reward with track sprint times disappointing at the meeting generally.

Ethan Hussey was a fine fifth in the 800m.

Selemon Barega (Diamond League)

Ahead of Keith, 18-year-old Mekedes Alemeshete surprisingly led home the Ethiopian top four with an early world lead of 14:36.70 while Selemon Barega won the 5000m in a world outdoor lead of 12:55.68.
