Bruses Wins 100 Hurdles, Sets Facility Record at WVU Last Chance


MORGANTOWN, W.V. – Select members of the Pitt track and field team competed in the WVU Last Chance meet at Mylan Park on Saturday, May 4.

Jana Bruses won the women’s 100-meter hurdles, running a personal best time, 14.19. Bruses’ time was also a Mylan Park facility record.

Peyton Geehrer placed second in the men’s 3000-meter steeplechase. He crossed the line in 9:05.00 in his steeplechase debut. On the women’s side of the same event, Gianna Cagliola finished in fourth place, running at a pace of 11:06.24.

Shynae Deas ran her best time this season in the 800-meter race. With a time of 2:11.92, Deas placed fifth in the women’s twilight section.

UP NEXT

The Panthers travel to Atlanta for the ACC Outdoor Championships. The three-day conference meet will begin on Thursday, May 9 and run through Saturday, May 11 at George C. Griffin Track on the campus of Georgia Tech.
