AUSTIN, Texas – California track & field’s Rowan Hamilton and Mason Mangum were announced as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men’s Track & Field Academic All-Americans on Wednesday, with Hamilton earning a second-team spot and Mangum a third-team nod.

It is the first Academic All-America honor and second major academic award (2023 NAIA Scholar-Athlete) for Hamilton, who transferred from British Columbia in the 2023-24 school year to pursue a graduate certificate at Cal. During the indoor track & field season, the Chilliwack, British Columbia, native broke the program’s weight throw record at 22.36m (73-4) and became Cal’s first male weight thrower to reach the NCAA Indoor Championships, earning Second-Team All-America status. As the third leg of the men’s 4x100m relay squad, Mangum contributed to a significant school record in the event, surpassing the previous 49-year-old entry with a combined time of 38.90 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to earn his first All-America honor (Second Team).
