Kain Paces Blue Devil Men at Adidas XC Challenge


CARY, N.C. – The Duke men’s cross country team took part in the Adidas XC Challenge Friday evening, with Blue Devil junior Jeremy Kain pacing four Duke runners on the 6K course at the WakeMed Soccer Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Kain notched the highest placement for the Blue Devils on the evening, clocking 19:01.1 for a 46th-place finish.
  • Graduate student Jack Kovach (59th) and junior William Skelly (66th) were the next Duke runners to cross the finish line with times of 19:14.8 and 19:20.7, respectively.
  • Riley Newport rounded out the quartet as the sophomore turned in a finish of 19:42.1 to place 88th.

UP NEXT:
The Blue Devils will feature a split squad the weekend of Oct. 4 with several members of the team heading to the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational (Chicago, Illinois), while others make the short trek to Greenville for the ECU Pirate Invitational.
