RANKING THE ORANGE
The ‘Cuse men are ranked No. 21 to start the season in the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, while the women’s squad is also receiving votes.
Both teams finished in the top-four of last season’s ACC Championships, including a runner-up performance from the men. The next poll comes after this weekend’s meet on Sept. 12.
LAST TIME OUT
‘Cuse rolled at the Harry Lang Invitational, including a sweep of the scoring by the women’s team. Sage Brooks won the women’s 4.8k race, followed by Olivia Joly, Emma Eastman, Justus Holden-Betts and Reilly Zink in the top-five.
The men claimed the top-three spots in their race, led by Kevin Robertson, Sam Lawler and Nathan Lawler.
PREVIEWING PENN STATE
The Syracuse women’s race will begin at 10 a.m., traversing a 6,000-meter course. The men’s race begins 45 minutes later for a 5.2 mile race.
In addition to the Orange and Nittany Lions, West Virginia, American, Butler, Penn, Navy, Lehigh, St. Joseph’s and Youngstown State will also race.
