NEW YORK, September 26, 2023 – Today, the Armory Foundation announced KPMG LLP, the  U.S. accounting and professional services firm, will continue as the title sponsor of the HBCU  Showcase track and field meet for the second consecutive year. The HBCU Showcase will take  place at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York City on Saturday, January 13,  2024.

The HBCU Showcase Sponsored by KPMG highlights track and field programs from more than  20 premier Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) from across the country. A college  admissions fair will also be held during the Showcase for New York City high school students as  they prepare for their next steps in education. In 2023, the Showcase engaged more than 700

students from both HBCUs and local area high schools.

With tens of thousands of high school students practicing and competing at the Nike Track & Field  Center at The Armory every year, the historic venue offers a unique opportunity for HBCU college admissions representatives to interact with students who are exploring pathways to college. The

forum also allows students to gain insights into an HBCU education and experience and an early  view into career opportunities at firms like KPMG.

“HBCU engagement is a core component of Accelerate 2025, KPMG’s strategy rooted in growing  and supporting a diverse workforce and inclusive work environment. We are committed to building  a larger, more diverse pipeline of future public accounting and professional services talent,” said  Elena Richards, KPMG U.S. Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer. “We are honored to  collaborate with The Armory Foundation for the second year in our shared mission to create  equitable access to rewarding career pathways and higher education for students.”

“KPMG’s commitment to HBCUs goes beyond posting jobs or hosting recruiting events on campus  – we are dedicated to building lasting relationships that support both students and HBCUs’ local  communities. The Showcase is a prime example of that,” said Jennifer Neal, KPMG U.S. Diversity  Talent Attraction Leader. “Building and nurturing relationships with these schools is critical to  sustained engagement with students who are exploring majors and academic paths that may  encourage them to explore…
