Brianna White Earns CSC Academic All-America Honors


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Lady Vol track & field senior Brianna White was recently named to the 2023-24 women’s track & field/cross country Academic All-America team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizing superior individual performances on the track and in the classroom. The Brooklyn, New York, native was selected to the CSC Academic All-America second team.
 
The Academic All-America teams, selected by CSC members, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The first, second and third teams are comprised of 47 total student-athletes.
 
White enjoyed her most successful collegiate campaign in her debut season with the Lady Vols this past spring, joining the program after a three-year stint at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She anchored Tennessee to school records in the indoor (3:29.79) and outdoor (3:23.32) 4×400-meter relays, the latter earning a runner-up finish at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships. She also helped the Lady Vols secure their first outdoor 4×400-meter SEC title in nearly 40 years with a time of 3:24.44.
 
Individually, White earned First Team All-America honors in the 400-meter dash with her 8th-place finish at outdoor nationals in 50.79 seconds. Her personal-best of 50.64 was set at the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds and ranks second in school history behind Olympic champion DeeDee Trotter.
 
The Lady Vol senior majors in communication studies was recently tabbed to the 2023-24 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll. She was also one of seven UT track athletes to earn CSC Academic All-District honors.
