Scotland ready to race at Snowdon; Enter Senior Hill Champs

Team silver as Holly wins in Wales

Scotland teams are ready to compete on the hills this weekend at the at the 49th Snowdon International Race.

The race is happening on Saturday and runners will compete over 15.35k with 994m of ascent and descent.

Good luck to our Scotland teams who are headed for Wales.

Men:

Jacob Adkin (Moorfoot); Ewan Brown (Corstorphine); Kieran Cooper (Carnethy); Robin Downie (Lochaber)

Women:

Naomi Lang (Carnethy); Catriona MacDonald (Bellahouston); Ella Peters (Westerlands); Jill Stephen (Deeside)

Congratulations to all those selected and to their families, coaches and clubs. It will be a first Scotland vest appearance for Ella and Robin.

Calling hill runners!

We’re asking athletes to enter now for the Senior Scottish Hill Running Champs next month,

Entries are open online now for Saturday 17 August with medals up for grabs at the Tap O’Noth Hill Race in Rhynie, Huntly.

Runners will face a 7.5km route with 390m of ascent/descent (with the event part of the Rhynie Gala).

There will be Championship categories for both male and female: Senior, U23, V40, V50 and V60 and Senior teams (three to count).
