Allen Garners NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

DURHAM, N.C.—Duke men’s track and field senior Beau Allen recently was announced as one of 21 recipients of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Allen is the fourth Blue Devil this academic year to win the award.

The NCAA awards scholarships to 21 men and 21 women during each of the fall, winter, and spring seasons.  The scholarships, worth $10,000 each, are awarded to student-athletes who intend to pursue advanced degrees in graduate or professional school.  The student-athletes are evaluated on academics, athletics and community service.

A high jumper from Santa Barbara, California, Allen turned in a strong 2024 campaign that culminated in All-ACC Second-Team honors and an appearance at the NCAA East Regional. He competed in six meets and posted top-five finishes in each outing, including a win at the Charlotte Invitational.

Over the course of his career as a Blue Devil, Allen has collected five All-ACC honors, including first-team accolades in the 2022 and 2023 outdoor seasons. He took home the silver medal in the high jump at the 2022 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championship and was an All-ACC second-team honoree during indoors that season.

Equally as successful in the classroom, Allen is an eight-time All-Academic honoree and served as the 2023 team captain. Allen is tied for second all-time in the program record books in the indoor high jump while checking in at No. 3 in the outdoor high jump. Having already completed his undergraduate degree, Allen recently earned his Master of Management Studies degree from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
