2023 ISTAF Indoor on 29 January features Sam Kendricks, KC Lightfoot, Bo Kanda Lita Baahre, Pal Haugen Lillefosse

The ISTAF Dusseldorf meeting became an ISTAF event in 2020. I visited the event in 2019 and loved it. The intimacy of the track, and sounds in the Athletics Halle, and the enthusiasm of the fans were exciting. In 2019, I was fortunate enough to go to all the European stops of the World Athletics Indoor tour Gold Meetings, and enjoyed the two German meets, in Dusseldorf and Karlsruhe.

Sam Kendricks, the two-time World Champion, KC Lightfoot, the Tokyo 4th placer, Bo Kanda Lita Baehre, 2022 European silver medalist and World Championship 7th placer, will compete in Bo’s hometown, against Pal Haugen Lillefosse, who has two medals (silver and bronze), from the European Championships.

The ISTAF meetings are some of the most creative events in Europe. The ISTAF Berlin Outdoor event is one of the oldest track meets in Europe. ISTAF also has indoor meetings in Berlin and Dusseldorf!

DUSSELDORF (GER): An excellent men’s pole vault line-up has been assembled for the ISTAF INDOOR in Dusseldorf, WIT Silver, on 29 January including American 6-meters Sam Kendricks, two-time World champion and Olympic 4th placer KC Lightfoot against Bo Kanda Lita Baehre, competing in his home town, and Norway’s Pal Haugen Lillefosse, the silver and bronze medallists respectively from the European Championships. The previously confirmed Malaika Mihambo will take on European bronze medallist Jazmin Sawyers of Great Britain and Serbia’s Milica Gardasevic in the long jump.
