Single-Day Meet Is Bears’ First Full Outdoor Competition

BERKELEY – California track & field is set for its first full outdoor competition on Saturday, two weeks after the Cal Opener came to a premature weather-related end. The Golden Bears – and several other programs west of the Rockies – will travel to Stanford for the Cardinal Classic on Saturday, with the first events beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the final event scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Several Bears who did not participate in the indoor season will be making their 2023 debuts, while others will be looking to ride the momentum from successful indoor campaigns into the weekend. Twenty-three current Bears appear on the program’s outdoor top-10 lists; as of Thursday afternoon, 15 of them are scheduled to compete on Saturday.
