Shoaf Takes First in Shot Put at Victor Lopez Invite – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

HOUSTON, TX. – The throwing squad of the University of Notre Dame track and field team traveled to Rice University for the Victor Lopez Invite.

Blake Kusky, Michael Shoaf,John Keenan, Emma Albano, and Sarah David represented the Irish at the meet. 

Shoaf represented the Irish well in the shot put where he took first place. He threw for a mark of 19.00 meters. In the women’s shot put, Emma Albano made a throw for a mark of 12.09 meters.

Shoaf and Kusky both competed in the hammer throw. They took fifth and sixth place out of a field of nineteen competitors. Kusky threw for a mark of 55.98m while Shoaf hit 55.49 meters. On the women’s side, Albano hit a mark of 52.70 meters where she took fourth place.

David was the lone Notre Dame representative in the women’s javelin throw. She took fifth place with a throw of 38.72 meters. Keenan took fourth place in the men’s javelin throw with a toss of 62.27 meters.

The Irish are back in action next weekend when they travel to Texas Relays on March 29-April 1 and the Pacesetter Sports Invitational March 31-April 1.
