NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its All-Academic Awards on Thursday.
The Vanderbilt women’s track and field team was recognized, along with 11 individual student-athletes: Kaira Brown (public policy studies and Latino and Latina studies), Caroline Eck (human and organizational development), Veronica Fraley (biomedical sciences), Beatrice Juskeviciute (medicine, health, and society), Sarah Marvin (medicine, health, and society), Allyria McBride (environmental sociology), Madison Murray (economics and medicine, health, and society), Niki Narayani (medicine, health, and society), Brooke Overholt (human development studies), Taiya Shelby (marketing) and Jada Sims (political science and African American and diaspora studies).
For a team to be awarded All-Academic honors, the cumulative grade point average of all student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The women’s track and field team grade point average was 3.46 for the 2022–23 school year.
Individuals must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and have completed at least two semesters at the certifying institution. Additionally, student-athletes must meet athletic criteria during the indoor or outdoor track and field season. Individuals must have finished the indoor season ranked in the top 96 of any championship individual event or the top 48 of any championship relay event, or they must have participated in any round of the NCAA DI Outdoor Track and Field Championships or finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or West region.
