OXFORD, Miss. – As one of Ole Miss’ brightest in her craft, track and field thrower Jalani Davis has been selected to attend the 2023 Women Leaders in College Sports Convention from Oct. 8-10 in New Orleans.

“I believe great leaders create more leaders,” said Davis. “I am following in the steps of those that came before me, and hopefully there will be individuals who do the same after me.”

The reigning NCAA Indoor weight throw champion has cemented her legacy as one of Ole Miss’ best throwers, qualifying this past summer for the World Athletics Outdoor Championships in shot put as part of Team USA with her bronze medal performance at the U.S. Outdoor Championships. Davis also won the NACAC U23 title in the women’s hammer and took silver in the shot put this past summer.

The Hampton, Va., native, qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2021 and looks to do the same this summer with the goal of making it to Paris. The five-time All-American shines in the classroom by earning USTFCCA All-Academic honors four times throughout her career.
