Women of Utah Wrap Up Busy Friday with Several PRs


AUSTIN / STANFORD / OREM – The Utah track & field team had a busy start to the weekend with competitors in three different meets across three different states on Friday.
 
TEXAS RELAYS
Emily Martin got things going for the Utes in the 100m dash over at Mike A. Myers Stadium for the 94th running of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The sophomore clocked in a time of 11.76 (11.755) her time finals of the event – which was just shy of her school record time (11.73). Freshman J’neya Hill shaved .41 off her previous collegiate mark when she posted a time of 12.05 to move into a tie for seventh all-time at Utah.
 
In a very tough event, Harley Daniel recorded a time of 13.99 for 15th-overall in the 100m hurdles.
 
Utah’s 4x400m relay team of Harley Daniel, Ally Gomm, Bailey Kealamakia and Josefine Eriksen qualified for the finals with a run of 3:40.74 to win their heat. Utah’s 4x100m crew of Megan Rose, Emily Martin Hill and Kealamakia didn’t qualify for the for the finals but ran the fifth-fastest mark at Utah clocking in at 46.15.
 
UVU COLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL
Back home in the Beehive State, Rachel Bair improved her 100m hurdle time with a time of 16.18 for a new PR at Hal Wing Track & Field in the UVU Collegiate Invitational. Madi Durrant and Malia Overton finished after one another in the 200m dash with Durrant crossing at 25.16 for fifth-overall while Overton ran a new personal best time of 25.21 for sixth-overall.
 
Chloe Shewell continued her streak of new personal bests so far this year, this time running a 57.40 in the 400m dash for fourth. Durrant ran her first 400m dash in the outdoor season and recorded a mark of 57.95.
 
Millie Wilcox and Annie Murdock cruised in the 800m race, leading the Utes with a 1-2 finish on Friday. Wilcox was the first to cross the finish line at 2:12.58 while Murdock checked in shortly after at 2:14.18.
 
Claire Rusovick was Utah’s first finisher in the 1500m race, which featured five Women of Utah, with a run of 4:40.75 for second-overall. She was bested by teammate Anna Peters, who won the race as an unattached runner. Chloe Kockler picked up a top-10 finish as well with a mark of 4:49.23 for eighth-overall. Caroline Fischer made her outdoor season debut with a run of 4:51.38 for 11th while Karli Branch took 12th after crossing the finish line at 4:52.40. Grace…
