Cougars continue Pac-12 Championships, book additional spots in Sunday finals

 WALNUT, Calif. — Washington State men’s and women’s track and field teams combined for four top-five finishes with four track athletes punching tickets into Sunday finals in the second of three days at the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships Saturday at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.

True freshman Louie Hinchliffe qualified for the men’s 100-meter dash finals with a second-place finish in 10.25 in the first prelim heat.  Parker Duskin, also in his conference championships debut, advanced through the men’s 110-meter hurdles prelim with a personal-best 14.36 to finish eighth in the men’s field.

Micaela De Mello notched a season-best 13.09 to qualify for the women’s 100-meter hurdles final and Elena Willems lived to fight another day in the women’s 800-meter run with a 2:06.63 to qualify in ninth overall.
