Six Dores Tabbed All-SEC

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Six Vanderbilt track and field student-athletes were named to the All-SEC second team, the league announced Tuesday. Audrey Allman, Emma Curry, Allyria McBride, Giavonna Meeks, Sarah Omoregie and Julia Rosenberg were selected based on their third-place finishes at the SEC Indoor Championships.

Curry, McBride, Allman and Rosenberg made up the bronze medal-winning distance medley relay that turned in a time of 11:15.13, the No. 2 mark in school history.

In the weight throw, Meeks recorded a 1.16-meter personal best, throwing 23.04 meters to capture third place. She broke the school record for the fourth time this season. Her mark ranks fifth overall in the NCAA this season.

Omoregie’s 17.11-meter throw was an indoor personal best and the third-best mark in the SEC shot put competition. She has improved her shot put mark at every indoor meet she’s competed in this season and ranks third on Vanderbilt’s all-time performers list.

Qualifiers for the NCAA Indoor Championships will be made official on March 1. The meet will be March 8-9 in Boston, Massachusetts.
