Pustilnik Earns Tenth Best Time in Program History, Gators Conclude First Day at East Coast Relays


GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The group of twelve Gators Track & Field athletes competing at the East Coast Relays on Friday totaled eight top-ten finishes highlighted by Rylee Pustilnik capturing the tenth-best time in school history in the 3000m steeplechase.
 
After making her steeplechase debut earlier this outdoor season at the Pepsi Florida Relays, Pustilnik shaved 22 seconds off her previous time to record a new personal best of 10:36.27. The Delray Beach, Florida native passed Devin McDermott on the all-time list to secure the tenth-best mark in program history, joining Elise Thorner as the two current Gators on the list.
 
For the second time this outdoor season, Liina Winborn and Caroline Bauer finished back-to-back in an event. After finishing fourth and fifth at the FSU Relays in the 1500m, the duo notched second and third-place finishes in the 5000m on Friday night. Winborn tallied a time of 16:57.30 while Bauer recorded a finish of 17:01.74.
 
Michael Fiore, Matt Mule’, and Jonathan Pitchford placed fifth, ninth and tenth in the Men’s 1500m, respectively while Ashley Klingenberg recorded an eighth-place finish in the Women’s 1500m.
 
Orlando Cicilioni ended the night with a personal record in the 5000m as he tallied a time of 15:45.13
