Robinson Tabbed ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week – University of Miami Athletics

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Senior jumper Russell Robinson has been announced as the ACC’s Men’s Field Performer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Robinson bested the competition in his signature event, the men’s triple jump, with 16.48m at the Rod McCravy Memorial in Louisville, Kentucky this past weekend. Robinson’s distance improved on his previous program record, 16.36m, which he achieved at last year’s Texas Tech Red Raider Open.

Achieved on a twelve-step short approach, Robinson’s distance of 16.48m was a new Rod McCravy Memorial meet record, North Healthcare Sports Center facility record, and the second-best triple jump mark in the country this season.

The Windermere, Florida native also placed second in the men’s long jump with a new personal best of 7.75m — a mark that moves him into the number two spot on the school’s indoor top five long jump list.
